Types of Vinyl Flooring
With the vast varieties of vinyl flooring available, it can be difficult to find the one that matches with your home. Even though the benefits of vinyl are almost identical across the board, each type is slightly different from the next. Below are the different options on the market regarding vinyl flooring:
Sheet: As the name states, sheet vinyl comes on a rolls that are 12 feet wide, which removes the need for seaming or limiting the number required.
LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank): Often, you will hear people talk about LVP or luxury vinyl plank. It is a type of vinyl flooring that has a wood look to it and comes in individual planks. There are two ways to install LVP: click or glue. The click method allows for the boards join together using a tongue and groove system, making for an easy installation. A benefit of clicking your LVP is that you can remove it if you decide that you no longer like the floor and maybe sell it or place it in another room of the house. If LVP is glued down, it still maintains the same durability that a floating LVP holds; the only difference is that it is there to stay.
LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile): LVT is very similar to LVP; only instead of having a wood look, LVT looks like tile. The installation methods for LVT are the same as LVP but with a twist. LVT give you the option to add grout. With a non-porous grout, the grout will resist wear and last longer than regular grout used for installing tile.
